Motorsports Gateway Attends Pratt Miller Motorsports Partnership Summit

AUGUST 30TH, 2024

On Thursday, August 1, a group of Pratt Miller Motorsports partners gathered at the global headquarters of Oshkosh Corporation. The beautiful, state-of-the-art facility was the ideal location to showcase Pratt Miller and their parent company, Oshkosh Corporation.

In June 2020, Oshkosh announced plans to acquire Pratt Miller, aiming to combine Pratt Miller’s engineering expertise with Oshkosh’s innovation and operational strengths to better serve customers and drive growth. With roots in motorsports, Pratt Miller has become a highly adaptive, agile, and innovative company, trusted in the defense, mobility, and motorsports markets. They excel in developing hybrid and fully electric powertrains, integrating technology, and platform development for the defense industry. Additionally, Pratt Miller brings expertise in connected systems, machine learning, and telematics solutions.

Following an introduction by Brandon Widmer, Pratt Miller’s VP of Motorsports, the group welcomed John Pfeifer, CEO of Oshkosh, as the evening’s first speaker. Highlighting the many ways that Pratt Miller Motorsports brings value to Oshkosh, Pfeifer specifically noted contributions in driver safety, propulsion systems, and aerodynamics. He also spoke about the value of the motorsports program as a way for Oshkosh employees to express their company pride through support of the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports team. Additionally, the partnership has enabled Oshkosh to make significant business connections through the world of motorsports, further driving business development.

Next, the group enjoyed a presentation by retired Corvette Racing Program Manager, Doug Fehan. Fehan began with GM Racing in 1988 and worked on a number of the company’s motorsports programs, including the Chevrolet Beretta Trans-Am, Chevrolet Intrepid GTP, and Oldsmobile’s World Sports Car efforts. Starting in 1996, Fehan served as program manager of the record-setting Corvette Racing team, leading the program to 14 team championships, 13 manufacturers' and drivers' titles, and 113 race victories. Doug shared several humorous and inspirational stories, including the launch of Corvette Racing, the program's string of successes on the track, and the resulting positive impact on General Motors products and the company’s culture of support for Corvette Racing over the past 30 years. The evening concluded with a tour of the state-of-the-art Oshkosh Corporation Global Headquarters and an overview of the company’s rich history and significant impact on everyday life.

Motorsports Gateway is a proud partner of Pratt Miller Motorsports, and we look forward to the growth of our relationship.
