The creation of the Loop Road will connect Lucy Road to Michigan Avenue, opening up new possibilities for the city's growth and accessibility. This infrastructure endeavor has been a part of the city's plan for over three decades. The Loop Road project, once a distant dream, now seems within reach, promising transformative benefits for Howell and its community.
Erv Suida’s Insight
Erv Suida, Howell City Manager, has noted the significance of the Loop Road project, stating, “The Loop road has been part of the City’s plan since the early 1980’s. This route will provide a means to get around CSX for emergency response, access to land locked properties, improve critical infrastructure reliability for the South east quadrant of the City, eliminate certain truck traffic from our Historic Downtown, and spark economic growth to an area prime for redevelopment. This road has long been sought as one of the last major opportunities for smart investment in our community. Having this road in conjunction with the Motorsports Gateway Development means great things for Howell and the greater area!”
As the Loop Road project gains momentum, it aligns with Howell's long-term vision for improved infrastructure, accessibility, and economic vitality. This vision is not merely about roadways but about building a thriving, forward-looking community that can meet the needs of residents and businesses for generations to come.
