Construction Update: Preparing for Track Finish Grading and Vertical Construction

Welcome to the latest construction update from Motorsports Gateway Howell! Our vision for a premier automotive community is rapidly materializing. We are excited to share significant progress in our construction and outline what the future holds for this exciting project. As we push forward in the 2024 Michigan Construction Season, we're excited to share key progress details and keep you updated every month with our team’s biggest highlights and achievements.
Soil Testing and Track Preparation
Our private driving circuit is nearing realization after our latest round of soil testing. We are delighted to report that the soil moisture content is very close to ideal (within a few percentage points), to allow us to proceed with finish grading for the South Circuit. We’re committed to creating a state-of-the-art racing experience, which by nature, requires precision for the high-performance demands of our Drivers Club members. Moving forward with finish grading under optimal conditions is a critical step in ensuring the stability and longevity of the track surface. When finish grading commences, the track sub base will be placed simultaneously, laying a solid foundation for what will soon be the premier racing experience in Michigan. We will begin hiring driving circuit staff for our soft open this summer. If interested, please submit your resume to careers@motorsportsgateway.com for consideration.
North Circuit Design
In our effort to deliver an unparalleled driving experience, we are collaborating with Driven International to refine the North Circuit design. Based on recent survey results, we are optimistic we will be able to extend the full circuit past our current projection. This extension will be determined by favorable survey results, which currently suggest promising options for additional length and features. Similar to our development of the South Circuit, we iterate at every step of construction and act with intention to optimize and create the best result for our Drivers Club and automotive community at large. This innovative approach enabled us to lengthen the South Circuit, include additional turns, and incorporate unique features like our mini carousel.
Garage Condo Developments
Construction on the first garage condo pad has commenced, with more to follow as vertical building materials will begin arriving on site in mid-May. Weather permitting, trenching for the garage condo foundations will start Thursday, May 2nd. These latest developments are paving the way for the rapid development of our greatly anticipated garage condo buildings.
Looking Ahead
The next few months are set to be bustling with activity. By July, we anticipate nearing the completion of the base course for the track, setting the stage for the final surface courses. Our custom blended surface course is being specially designed to offer optimal grip in both wet and dry conditions, ensuring a superior driving experience and driver safety.
